It’s done, and it’s sick.

Adam Ehalt, Fade Nation Green, ATL Swerve and Skate, Pow-Wow Qualifiers, and the Colorado Roadtrip.

Ehalt’s section is so VG’esque. I love it.

LOW LIFE: Julian Bah Picture and Promo

Posted in General Info on January 21, 2010 by michaelbraud

Check out this promo Nick Norton put together of Julian Bah.

This will ruin you, and you’ll love it. (SHORT CHEAP FLICK J Bah Promo)

I got to see rough cuts of SHORT CHEAP FLICK when I went to Gainsville for the Panhandle Pow-Wow Qualifiers and I have to say it will probably be one of the best skate videos ever made. Nick knows what he’s doing behind a camera and his editing is like Joey and Johnny Ramone destroying your enemies with spiked bats.

I also took a photo (seen below) of Julian Bah doing a topsoul that will appear in the same video. It was nuts. More photos of the terrible run-up are HERE. We tried holding that piece of wood to the top of my car in transit to the spot, almost killing ourselves and others as it nearly aeroplaned into heavy Lawrenceville, GA traffic. Luckily, we got it into the car so Julian could lace this trick for the culture.

Check out this photoshopped version of the topsoul I finished up last night.

Seth Lloyd – “Our Pow-Wow (Qualifiers) Week (Part 1)”

Posted in General Info with tags , , , on January 13, 2010 by michaelbraud

Since none of the rollerbladers that Seth and I skate with are pro, and the Pow-Wow just got added to the WRS series, doing well in the AM qualifier to compete in the pro level WRS competitions is pretty important to us.

Seth is documenting our journey from Macon, GA to Gainesville, FL starting today, Wednesday January 13th, 2010.

Zach Leavell: Photography of a Southern Gentleman

Posted in General Info on January 11, 2010 by michaelbraud

I met Zach Leavell about a year ago in Chattanooga through Josh Hayes. When I moved from Chattanooga to Atlanta, Josh was the only older blader left in Chattanooga and has since fostered the scene into another generation of rollerbladers who are talented, have their own style and opinions of rollerblading, and who care about where the industry is headed as they become the new torch bearers for their city. Zach is one of these guys, and he happens to have a talent for taking photos…

How long have you lived in The South?
My name is Zach Leavell, i was born in raised in The South.
(Chattanooga, TN but now live and go to college in Nashville, TN).

How long have you been taking photos?
I have been taking photos for around 2 years now.

What’s your camera set up(s)?
I am currently shooting with a Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm lens and
another on its way and with some strobes and all of those goodies.

Why should anyone care about your scene?
Well, I am currently an active part of 2 scenes(Chattanooga and Nashville) which both are filled with rising talents. The people who I skate with definitely are stepping their games up and will be making The South proud by shredding it hard.

There is no doubt that The South has given birth to some of the most raw and creative skating out there and I’m glad to have seen and been a part of these crews. The people who I skate with, whether it be Nashville, Chattanooga, or Atlanta portray the Southern way of skating well. Be on the lookout for The South!
